Last week, more than 60 corporate members and partners gathered at Corporate Coalition Member William Blair's offices to hear from members of the Corporate Coalition about the work they are engaged in. We heard about initiatives such as the Corporate Connector, Fair Chance Hiring, Equity Capital Pool (E-CAP), and Small Dollar Solutions - or, as Sarah Glavin re-named the work on the spot, "Small Dollars, Big Impact."
Roger Hochschild, Co-chair of the Corporate Coalition of Chicago Coalition summed up the urgency of our work: "Now, more than ever." Brian Fabes, Managing Director, shared results of a recent poll that showing that Chicagoans have high expectations of business leaders, expectations that are not being met today. As Brian noted, members of the Corporate Coalition are closing the gap between expectations and perceived performance, but we all need to talk more about our work if we are going to ensure that "Business UNusual" becomes the norm, not the outlier.
The energy was contagious! Thank you to our members for their commitment to this work and their leadership in creating a more thriving Chicagoland region for everyone.
